Brief
 
Design one new conversational print taking into account Cath Kidston’s brand values and print style. The print should be designed to be used across three of the product categories; Woman’s fashion, Woman’s Accessories and Home. 
 
 
Concept
 
Based on the brands visual identity of the English heritage, a print will be designed on the theme of Proud To Be British.
 
 
Solution 
 
Come rain or shine, summer time is by far the countries favourite time of year and what better way is there to enjoy the great outdoors then by having a splendid summer picnic. A conversational print will be designed on a lovely day out exploring the beautiful British countryside. A fresh, warm and vibrant colour palette will be used to reflect the Spring/Summer seasons.  
Print Development 
 
The style for the print design will be created through water colour illustrations, this allows the familiar Cath Kidston identity to be applied through a new print. 
Print Design
Having taken inspiration from the British countryside and traditional picnic scenes, the print portrays a distinct visual style that is versatile and applicable for coherent use throughout the brands product ranges. 
Each colour way contains a dual use print, the floral design is created for optimal design application.
Home Accessories 
As the conversational print is based on the scene of a summer picnic, the print is applied to a picnic set range. In order to be suitable for indoor and outdoor use plastic cutlery, straws and paper napkins are created for additional functionality to the ascetically appealing outcomes.
Woman’s Fashion & Accessories
Digital Promotion
 
Digital advertisement would be shown through the website and social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. 
By promoting the new range through these mediums, the brand will engage and interact with the consumer by creating playful and friendly conversations. 
Print Promotion
Billboard posters would additional act as further advertising, the designs are based on simplicity and creating curiosity to lead the audience in finding out more through brand interaction
